There's no proper way to introduce the incredible column that I want to share here--you just have to read it. It's aptly called "The Advertisement of Our Impending Demise", written by freelance writer Morris O'Kelly.

Click HERE to read the column.

If we want to 'save' hip-hop and R&B music, perhaps we need to do something about this!

i wrote the author of that article a little e-mail this is what it said if you want to read it but i totally do not agree with it!! it a bunch of bull and wasted time if you ask me!!:
--------------------------------------------------
IM sorry but that to me was all a bunch of bull about your article on "The Advertisement For Our Impending Demise." Did you know that all that stuff you said about the sales of all the automobiles is completely ridiculous! I haven't heard any of the sales companies complaining! Just you!! and that whole part about "we are letting our kids get influenced" blah blah blah ... well the only way that "children" are going to get influenced is if parents dont know how to talk to their kids and explain to them what is right from wrong!!! i cant believe you actually thought you were going to get somewhere with this article!! now i understand this is you opinion and the stuff about the sales of certain types of cars have went up, and I also understand that this is just my opinion but I know a lot of people who agree with me on this. Hell IM just an 18 year old kid living in a small place where everyone more or less knows everyone and I make about $215.00 a week, but I bet you I have more people agree with little low paid me, then they would with high class article writer you! I think you have kids and they listen to the same stuff you are downing in this article. Hell you probably have all the CD's with this stuff on it! If you dont like what is on the radio then change the station! because i might be a country girl but i know everyone of the songs that you were talking about and half of them i like to listen to also and i know a lot of people who like to listen to it too!! it kind of sounds like someone is jealous that artists who sing about cars, alcohol, and sex make more money than you do when you write About it! Here is an idea get a hobby, go talk about the stuff that really needs to be changed in this society and leave the stuff us "children" and adults like to listen to!

Welcome CountryGirl,

You being 18 explains a lot about your opinion. When you are a little older and trying to raise kids to be better than yourself as all parents do this all will probably make more sense to you then.

You have not lived long enough to witness how much harder it is to raise children that are able to easily avoid the negative influences in society. Even the language you use in your own post shows how negatively influenced you have been given the material you choose to take in.

Before your time it was much easier for parents to show their kids that sex was something for married people. And children did not have messages in front of them that lead them to desire to be pimps and hos.

With public airwaves the public determines what is good or bad. I just hope one day you realize the impact the negative messages have had on society.

You should research the facts presented by O'Kelly. Although he adds his opinion he very much speaks the truth.

Companies know O'Kelly is correct, and they cater to the material because they know. This is all fact. Of course companies won't complain. Why would they? It's their place to make money, not to care if society goes to a dumpster!
